OVERVIEW: DEMO DISKETTE
After delving head first into Interactive multimedia, this diskette demo created in the spring of 1993, received a great response from the multimedia community. At that time, I packed a lot of work on one diskette, approximately 1.2MB formatted. The diskette contained art and design samples. I used multimedia to promote my services.

This personal promotional piece pushed the limits of my file optimization techniques. Around 1996 I received the privilege to beta test what was to be Shockwave/Flash technology. That was cool.

DEMO DETAILS
Below are some sketches from concept to execution. I initially started with sketches. Here's one of them below, with a very big idea feel :) As you can you see, much of the bottom part of the idea didn't make it. Why? Well, just because most screens are 4:3 ratio.

This screen was just too tall! So I made it fit into a 640x480 live screen area. At that time, 640x480 was standard. Anything more, and you were considered a power user! LOL!

After, the initial sketch, I made outlines in Adobe Illustrator. This helped me to define the look further.

The next step was planning the content, or what's going to play in the live area. At that time, I had a 1.2 MB limit, so I had to be judicious in what I chose to show my potential client or employer.

After this definition and architecture phase, I started creating the interface. It was fun to see it coming alive. For that, I used 3D and bitmap programs to get the look just right. The rest of the demo was composited and developed in Macromedia Director. Back then, Macromedia was called Macromind and was owned by Paracomp. I digress, anyway, I used Lingo to program the buttons and sprites to move and convince the viewer to hire me for their graphic and new media work :)

On the left side are some screen shots of the demo. The demo was really a good option for me to mix and match the samples that I would provide to a potential client.
