Logo Design for the Toronto Graphic Design Guild

The Toronto Graphic Design Guild is a forum hosted on the Meetup servers. The group needed a logo designed.

Below is a snapshot of what goes into designing a logo. It involves some initial definitions and finding out details about the client and market. Then I go away for a few days and think up some initial rough concepts. For this logo design, my daughter had come into my home office and asked what I was doing. She watched for few minutes and asked if she could try out some designs. So some of these had her help. She drew up a logo sample and it seemed to work, so I tried it out. I included them in the samples I presented.

I then create tighter versions of the logo for review. I typically will do 3 versions that I believe will work. However at the end of the day, it boils down to subjectivity.

I'll write more stuff about this logo design case study and post it here. I know there's been some banter and comments on the forum itself as I've posted the sample file there. Most of the comments were good.
