How to Make Your Forum by Invite Only

Guests Can See Members But NOT the Profiles

You can make your site by invite or join only by forcing a membership routine. For example, you want a guest to see the members but NOT the member's profile. Here's what you need to do.

Open up the profile.php page. It is located at the root of your dolphin install. Go to line on or about 32. It should look like this:

if ( !( $logged['admin'] = member_auth( 1, false ) ) )
if ( !( $logged['member'] = member_auth( 0, false ) ) )
if ( !( $logged['aff'] = member_auth( 2, false )) )
$logged['moderator'] = member_auth( 3, false );


By updating the "member" to this:

if ( !( $logged['admin'] = member_auth( 1, false ) ) )
//if ( !( $logged['member'] = member_auth( 0, false ) ) )
if ( !( $logged['member'] = member_auth( 0 ) ) )
if ( !( $logged['aff'] = member_auth( 2, false )) )
$logged['moderator'] = member_auth( 3, false );

It will force the user to join in order to see the member's profile. In the above example, I just commented out the line, just in case I need to go back to it.
